Well, The urge didnt go away, so 2 weeks ago i moved the Eclipse to the garage to start the long and painful process of making her breath again. Plans arent completely decided but its going to be gone through bumper to bumper.

For those that dont know, fucktard tried to paint my car a while back and yea... that didnt work worth a shit. from talking to people the best guess is that aside from the fact that he cant paint to save his life, he got some contaminate in his air supply or paint or both that ruined not only his paint, but ate and pitted the factory paint as well. so, the only solution is to remove ALL of the paint he sprayed and all of the factory paint underneath it as well down to bare metal. this is the engine bay, exterior and the hatch area.

Heres what started it all...

And then the start of the paint pain in the ass (crazy ex gf)

The "attempt" at paint. looks okay from a distance, but upclose its sandpaper and flaked all to hell

Then after about ten days of work. shitty paint is almost all gone, still some work in the engine bay, wiper cowl, and tail light area. all interior is gone minus steering wheel and ebrake, glass is all removed. Doors and hatch are off.

After about 10 more hours of work in the engine bay, Ive finally got those corner crevasse that are such a pita to get to and the wiper cowl which also is a MAJOR pain in the ass all stripped and sanded down.

Also dropped the front and rear sub frames and fuel tank. front sub frame needs a bolt hole and a few bushings replaced and while its out it will get cleaned up and painted as well. Fuel tank is going for 2 reasons, number one is i dont need it anymore, and number 2 is im tired of smelling the damn thing. haha.

Well, here is the Radiator support that's going on to replace the old one with some damage from prior modifications (intercoolers and such)

Image

Front mount damage from huge pipes running under the headlights

Image

Old Side mount pipes damage

Image

Going to be removing the spare tire well and replacing it with some flat sheet metal to mount the Fuel cell and n2o bottle

Image

Fuel door that's getting filled in and molded to the body.

Now that's definitely a commitment. Can't wait to see how it ends up. wish I had the time/energy for all that work.
