we fully ported these heads, and are now clearancing them for the over sized cam lobes on these high lift kelford cams.

we got the new valve seals installed and dropped the valves into place for the last time, only to realize we are missing a key component. the supertech dual valve springs require special seats/shims and will not sit on the factory ones. as soon as they get here we can wrap up assembly and get onto installing the cams.

ok got the right stuff now..... you can see how different the supertech spring seats are from the stockers. the other trick is to snap the inner spring into the retainer before placing it on the head. its easy to get it misaligned. After the valve job we measured the valves for proper installed height and shortened them accordingly.

man these cams are insane..... the lobes are so big that the cam caps have to be clearanced to clear the lobes. got it all together today to be measured for buckets only to find i have more clearancing to do. The intake side has the highest lift. in the second picture you can see just how close the lobes come to the side of the head.

ok got the cam caps under control. not too bad, just didn't expect the lobes to interfere with everything in the head.

were in the clean room with the shortblock and finally ready for assembly. We are using ARP head studs, and have shimmed out all 4 cams within a thousandth of an inch.
