my name is eric rue, and im an engineer. i am not a registered professional, because i have the wrong degree (architecture) but i have been working in consulting engineering for 10+ years and most of my experience is in electrical systems. my wife has a masters in hydrology, and a bachelors in boilogy. she currently works as a pharmaceutical chemist for one of the many local companies in this area. we decided rather than buy a crappy built over priced home in cary, that we would start the long process of acquiring a piece of property and building something we can be proud of. after multiple searches on the GIS system we decided on a handful of vacant properties (none of which were for sale). we then proceeded to write the owners to see if any of them would sell. luckily the very first person we contacted and also our favorite piece of property ended up being available. in my spare time i have been running turbotime (an automotive business) out of the downstairs of my house on maynard road for just over a year now. iv outgrown the house big time, and its time to build something larger to hold the family as well as the growing business. we will start by building the garage first, so that i can move turbotime out of my house, and then start the house once thats finished. another great thing about having the garage built first is having somewhere to store expensive materials and tools as we build the house. heres the piece of property we bought. one whole acre of woods in the middle of cary with lots of nice trees.
