we are building bill a destroked STI motor. 2.3 liters of high rpm goodness! We started with an STI block, cleaned and bored it to .020 over. bolted some STI rods to a brand new wrx crank, and toped it off with a set of custom turbotime pistons.

rings are gapped and the pistons are in!
this is a big bore short stroke motor with one of our custom pistons, so we wanted to verify the installed height is the same or similar to the calculated height..... and it looks great!

we decided to go with a lightweight hollw core STI cam. this will save us rotational weight as well as give us a bit more lift and duration over the stock wrx cams. first we mounted them in the soft jaws, then we tapped the unused AVCS oil passages, and epoxied plugs into the holes.

unfortunately a bad storm came thru, (hurricane/tropical storm) and the car happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. the insurance company totaled the car, but with all the work we put into it i just couldnt let it go to the crusher. we bought the car back, and are in the process of trying to restore it back to like new condition, for my dad.
