here is the oil pump before and after radiusing the inlet and outlet. Rather than just slap on a high volume pump we disassembled it, oil relieved it, then installed it.

started installing the heads today on a set of ARP studs. The huge intake ports on these heads look mean.

car is all back together and i just finished the 60K service on it as well. We also installed a stiffer trans mount and some shifter bushings, an invidea downpipe and a remus exhaust. the new motor combo is mostly tuned for drivability, but i still need to finish putting the break in miles on it so i can switch to synthetic oil and finish WOT tuning. Im tuning this car myself using open source software and the stock 16bit wrx ecu.

we let ryan davis drive this thing at VIR (virginia international raceway) to see what he thought of it. It was a circuit cross event on the patriot course (inner course). Basically, take an autocross event and run it on a real track, and you have a circuit cross. It was a Ton of fun.

So what did the total cost of the build end up coming to?

And what did Ryan think of it at VIR? ;)

car ran great. we put a larger billet turbo, and did some more retuning on it before we took it to the track. car is super fast but its so hard to launch it off the line. the circuit cross event started from a dead stop, and the car has no suspension or brake mods whatsoever, so it definately wasnt the fastest thing around the corners, but it pulled hard on the straights, and was a lot of fun.

I'm realizing fun is priority #1. Sometimes I'm working on stuff so much I forget to have a good time.

i guess most everyone knows about the bad wreck i had on august 1st (head on colision) hospital, broken bones, surgery, bla, bla, bla,
the black outback was also totaled in that wreck, and we have decided to put this car up forsale and get another legacy sized car.

i hate to see it go, but if any one is interested in this car we are asking $15k

been doing more and more tuning on this car..... its running about 2 gallons of 93 (to help with cold starting in the winter) and topping off with E85. so its almost straight E85. i am running 22psi on a daily basis, and would go higher but im out of injector and out of MAF voltage. if i want it to go any faster id have to go to a 3" MAF tube and a larger injector. We also installed a new set of tires on some outback XT wheels. Heres a picture of amy and naomi in their hotrod.
