well things are finally starting to go my way..... ryan got the shift linkage kit from lokar partially installed and we are pretty sure its gonna work just fine. stay tuned for pics of that.....

now this is encouraging.... i got a crossmember thats so close to perfect that i can make it work without a ton of headache. had to send bowtie overdrives all kinds of dimensions, but this is very close to fitting with no midification at all.

you can see in this pic the bolt holes line up great, but im gonna have to make a slightly shorter trans mount. the poly ES mount was about 3/4" to tall to fit inbetween the crossmember and the trans without pushing the trans line on the driver side up into the trans tunnel adn bending it. troy will love the second picture. you can see the holes lined up perfectly on the crossmember so i didnt have to drill any new holes in his classic ride :)

Thanks for the update E, and a big thanks to you and Ryan for the help!

Yes, I am very glad that crossmember is actually going to work without drilling any more holes.

These pictures sure show that it has been awhile since I have cleaned the underside of my car! Sheesh.

i also modified the rear speed sensor bracket and removed that big stoopid tube coming from the driverside of the trans so we could pick the tail end up enough to get the corret trans mount in there. it was hitting the trans tunnel, and we didnt want to start cutting on this nice car. i started to make my own mount, but i didnt want to change the pinion angle unless i absolutely had to. in the end it all worked out, but now i have to find someway to get a tight radius turn on the side of the trans for the coolant lines. none of the #6 braided lines with 90's would fit on the trans without hitting the tunnel. time to go to the hardware store and see what they have available. also snapped a picture of the #12 starlite coolant lines we started making for the heatercore. no more ricy blue flex lines. the car is being hateful, and by the time its over, i bet we make all the braided lines twice. but its gonna look good.

E,

Ive got a few misc tight radius -6 fittings that youre more than welcome to borrow to use for mock up to if will help you. Theyre the brushed aluminum finish though...not that 80s style red/blue stuff :P :D .

E,

I got the 80e going in my truck finally and I think you guys will LOVE it in the chevelle. I beat it on it time after time with 16lb AWD boosted launches and it just laughed at me and came back for more.

BTW, make SURE you get a clean tach signal to the PCM or the WOT shifting will be gacked up since their table is based off of RPM (part throttle is TPS). I faught that issue for hours until I finally found a tach circuit that wasnt horribly noisey from RFI that was coming from the secondary side of the ignition.

Anyways, if you run into anything I can help you with just give me a ring.

dave, we are using the adapter harness from TCI that plugs directly into the back of the distributor. what did you use?

also what do you have in the way of fittings, im having a terrible time getting what i need for the cooler lines. no one seems to make anything with a male 5/16 IF on one side of a tight radius 90. dont even care whats on the other side...... could be pipe thread or -6...... i checked syty.tech and realized several guys are all having the same problem. any ideas?

nevermind ill just call ya, and wake your ass up :)

A guy over on syty-tech (drive train section) is supposedly making some custom adaptors for the late cases. Havent heard any updates on it though  .

Is the adaptor for the rear with the nipple on it steel? If so then a MIG or TIG and some creativity = solved problem  .
